I always look forward to the beginning of a new school year. It has been this way since I was little. By March (or February!) I always long for summer warmth, time at the pool, and just freedom in my schedule, but by the beginning of August I am ready to welcome the fall season and the structure that comes with it. I like to think of myself as easy-going, go with the flow, but those that really know me, know that I enjoy having a calendar that is somewhat full with structure, and a rhythm.
So, I am happy to report that this week we are beginning to ease back into our structured routine.
Tomorrow Molly and I go to a conference to meet her pre-K teacher, and then she starts class on Tuesday. It will be a little different for us this year as she is going four afternoons a week (compared to two mornings last year). I guess we are easing into a kindergarten schedule for next year.
Elliana will not be attending preschool yet, but she will get to have a grandparent day one day each week. My parents have offered to spend some one on one time with Ellie Belle so I can have a day to schedule appointments, take naps, run errands, etc. (and I guess eventually hang out with new little baby, but that still seems like a long time away!).
The girls will also continue their gymnastics class...which by the way, Ellie thinks that she is Nastia and asks us to call her that while she is practicing gymnastics at home : )
Today actually started the march into fall with the beginning of our weekly Bible study. I have to say that it was a relatively easy morning...even though it was the first in a long time where we have to be out of the house by 8:45. Life is getting easier now that Molly can dress herself and do her hair. (Sometimes the outfit needs some adjustments and the hair is interesting, but at least it is a start!) There are no diapers to change and even Ellie can put her own shoes on. And, it was so easy walking into to Bible study today...no more diaper bag to carry or sippy cups to juggle. And everyone can walk all by themselves! Okay, I know, I know...I will be starting all over again here in a few months, but let me enjoy these moments of freedom : ) It can be hard to watch your children grow up, yet there are some things in that process that can cause you to rejoice : )!
