Santa Cruz!

The second half of our trip was spent down near Santa Cruz. Once again, we stayed in Eric's grandparents cabin which was also our home for a few years. Last year it was so strange to go back and stay in the cabin, but now it is starting to feel more like a vacation spot...although it still brings many memories, and Eric was often tempted to check the mail or answering machine messages out of habit. We are so thankful to have such a great place to stay while in town!

Our time in Santa Cruz was spent seeing good friends, hanging out with Eric's brother, Ben, and his girlfriend, Shelly, playing with the girls, and just relaxing. It was such a wonderful time! A little rundown of some of our activities:

-eating at Gilbert's on the wharf (love fresh seafood!)
-playing at the Boardwalk
-beach day and bonfire with so many good friends...it was an awesome reunion!
-swimming at the Mission Springs pool
-attending church at Community Covenant (Scotts Valley)
-watching our good friend, Holly, get married!
-catching up with more friends at Holly's wedding

There were a couple of minor mishaps along the way...

-Molly forgot the wood burning stove was hot...a minor burn on the hand
-Ellie dislocated her elbow (again!) while waiting in line with Eric to ride the ferris wheel...she was such a trooper and a trip to urgent care the next morning made her as good as new!
-Molly's first bee sting (stepped on it...ouch!) while at Holly's wedding

Luckily, these minor things were easily dealt with and didn't effect the trip much!
