Holly-girl

The last few days have been hard ones. Our good friend, Holly, was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis on Tuesday night. Holly is only two-years-old. She is the daughter of one of my best friends, and she is Elliana's best friend. It has been hard to watch their dear family deal with this trial. While things were very scary in the beginning, Holly is showing good progress. She is still in a critical phase, but all signs are pointing to recovery. Her family is feeling very hopeful.

I was able to go see Holly last night. It was good, but it was also hard. It was too easy to imagine it being one of my girls in that little bed. I was able to hold Holly's hand, and she even opened her eyes to look at me! She is still sedated, but they are hoping to wean her from the sedation soon and remove her breathing tube. It will be a long road to recovery, but Holly is making great strides!

Please pray for Holly and her mom and dad. They are such dear friends. Pray that Holly will make a full and complete recovery without any lasting effects. Pray that the swelling on her brain will not increase, and that the minimal swelling that is present will not negatively affect her. Also, pray for rest, peace, and strength from the Lord for her mom and dad.

We know that God is present in this situation. There are many people praying and His power is being felt!

Here are a couple of pictures of Holly and Ellie from this summer
