Looking for the silver lining...

Well, today is our second day confined at home due to influenza. Molly came down with the symptoms on Monday afternoon, and her illness was confirmed yesterday at the doctor. He tells us that we can expect a few more days of aches, chills, sore throat, and fever...yuck. (And she even had her flu shot! The doc said that her symptoms should be less severe and shorter duration due to that fact though.) Luckily, while I don't feel 100%, I feel overall okay. Ellie seems to be okay at this point although she is still battling a runny nose from her ear infection last week. Eric, unfortunately, is also down with the flu. Of course, life doesn't stop for him, and he is currently on a plane to Florida for a business trip...just for the day.

So, where is the silver lining? As I briefly watched the news this morning before being prompted to turn on Curious George, I saw that the temperature today is expected to reach a high of 12, and the windchill will be -20 (that is negative!) to zero. Nice. Our Wednesday is typically pretty busy with three activities that get us out of the house...I am thankful that today I have an excuse to stay inside! I am thankful that I won't be shivering trying to get coats on the girls or trying to get them buckled in their seats. This illness came at just the right time according to the weather...there is my silver lining : )
