We had a good time hanging out at the beach...overall. There was the pesky red tide that kept us from completely enjoying our time in the sand. Since I don't completely understand what the red tide involves (although I did learn about it in a couple of biology classes...that was a long time ago!), I'll let you do your own research. The bottom line for us was that it caused an irritant that was both airborne and in the water. It irritates your respiratory system, so we all were continually coughing and had runny noses while at the beach. Before we realized what the issue was, Eric went swimming...the irritant in the water was even stronger and gave him asthma symptoms and made his eyes feel like they were on fire. But really, we had fun : ) I heard many locals and long time visitors say that they had never seen anything like this before...of course, the week we were there!
We went to the beach a couple of days and each time stayed for a couple of hours. The girls liked playing in the sand, but at this age, the pool is a little more fun anyway. We hope to go back to visit someday when we can enjoy the beach a little more!

Ahhh...what I have been waiting for! Pictures from the beach. Makes me wish I was there after a chilly week here in the heartland. These are some fabulous pictures of the girls (and their parents too :)).
