Full but Fun Fourth! (part 1)

Here are several pictures from the first part of our 4th of July festivities. We had a very busy day attending a festival in the morning, home for naps (or attempted naps), and then to a BBQ at some friends' house. The girls didn't get into bed until around 10 pm (they normally are asleep around 7:30). But, it was worth it and lots of fun.

The pictures above are from our time at the festival. There was an organization fitting kids with free bike helmets, so you can see that we took advantage of getting helmets that fit just right...even for Ellie. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure when Ellie will be wearing her helmet as she doesn't even ride a tricycle yet. We do have a bike seat that has never been used...maybe we should break it out!

Molly really enjoyed climbing through an inflatable obstacle course. We waited in line (in the very hot sun) for quite a while, so I'm glad she enjoyed it! We actually ended up in line a couple of times so she could enjoy this activity. Ellie had fun just hanging out and walking around with us. She was too little to do the activities, but she did like the petting zoo. She is having fun making all of her animal sounds these days.

At the end of the morning, we got to watch a little parade...the highlight being the Marching Cobras. They are a group that performs dance/marching routines with a drumline. Molly informed us that she wants to be a Marching Cobra someday. It was a very fun morning. I forgot to mention that we went with our good friends, the Halls. This was our third year to go together...we've decided it is becoming a tradition! It is always fun to hang out with them, and Molly loves to play with their son, Eli.

More to come on the second part of our festivities...

Eric,
This is Dan Scharenberg (Yogi). This festival looks a lot like villagefest, which Christy (Super Grover), my family, and I were at on the fourth. Do you guys live in the KC metro? We live in OP, and if you are in the area we would love to hook up with you guys some time. My contact is danscharenberg@fitnesstogether.com
